I have a 125 with 3 large (8" or so) Oscars and 1 full grown Green Terror
(8") The green terror just beats on the Oscars non stop. There is also a
bloody parrot fish (full grown also) in there that he doesnt mess with.Just
the Oscars.I took the green terror out and put him in my 55 with another
green terror and a dempsey. He isnt acting up yet but hes only been there for
about 5 mins.Anyone have any more suggestions on how to make him leave my
Oscars alone?

You could let the Oscars rule the tank for a few days or a week but
that won't guarantee that the GT will behave or that the Oscars won't
beat up the GT. Many of the New World cichlids are difficult to keep
in a community setting.

You may have to choose which species you want to keep.

your telling me!! I have a beautiful midas that has bullied his way into a
solitary 30 gl. If I get to close to the glass he attacks it with no fear. I
can even hear his gill rakes gnashing together!! pretty glad he can't get out,
the murderous *******. BTW, he was originally in a larger tank with an oscar, a
green terror, a dempsey, a G. severem, and get this, a jewel?!? Well, everyone
is happier except the asian tropicals that WERE in the 30, hee hee.

As they get bigger, and more territorial, more problems arise with mixing
big cichlids. I am always doing the isolation thing as well, for a week or
so, to try and calm the culprit down. Sometimes adding a "mate" will work?
But it may just as well screw up something else too. It's tough work being
god over our little wet kingdoms.
