Which clownfish? My maroons completely ignore them.
They seem to have too small tentacles to be considered
clownfish home... My clowns sit all day in bubble tip anemone.

mushroooms in general including the frilly type do not take the
constant beating they get from a clownfish without getting ragged and
worn looking and the potential to get killed in the process.

Given a choice between a frilly mushroom, and a
bubble tip, they probably will always choose the
bubble tip. But in a reef tank without anemones, a
frilly mushroom is a great alternative because the
frilly mushrooms don't move around like anemones do,
and they can take the beating better.
