That is the URL for the group, not the NNTP. The nntp is the url of the
server for the groups. Like news.microsoft.com is the nntp for all MSN
news groups.

then what is the code?? I've never had to even question it before, but I've
never dealt with codes before, unless we've got terminology confused, and I
have been a programmer DBA for too long, so maybe I'm unclear as to what a
'code' is...

I am sorry, I must not have been clear my friend. What I want to know
is the name of the server (nntp) for this news group. I can go through
google to post but I can not use a nospam addy if I do. So I am using
a news reader, and in order to download this group I need the name.
After doing a search I have come up empty so far, so if you can look on
your news reader and tell me what server you use for this group, I would
be very happy.
Thanks,
Vicki

You can use any nntp server to download the group. Well, maybe not any one,
but most will carry groups like this. For example:
news.msn.com is probably a good one for you to use, since you've got an msn
e-mail address. I use shawnews.ed.shawcable.net, which may or may not work
for you, since you're not in their domain. But your best bet, unless you
want to pay for a news server, is to use the one provided to you by your
ISP.
BTW, if you don't like spam in your e-mail, don't use your real e-mail
address when you configure your news software.

A server name you will either have to purchase or use one of the free ones
on the net, like
www.teranews.com and others.... can't remember what they are...
