Nice pics, which one is the blue DSC00458?

looks like you have my "ugly" cleaning the glass for you.. I have been
very reluctant to but my albino bristle nose's in the mbuna tank. Worried my
bristle nose will be bristle less...

Going by your pictures Rich, I must be well over populated..I think I have
30 Mbuna in the 55...
4 red zebra's
3 male Hap's
4 female Hap's
1 Socolofi
4 or 5 Kenyi ( two male )
2 male red top blues ( in the same family as the Zebra's )
3 OB peacocks
Convict ( small female )
Three unknown's ( suspecting Tangkn. Cic's )
A pair of common pl*co's
Most of the fish are 3 to 5 inches in length, the pl*c's are 4 inches and 6
inches... I forgot the upside down catfish to... Nor have I included the off
spring ( 12 more little cic's and waiting for the Ob's to drop thier
brood's..)

DSC00458 is a Copadichromis azureus. dunno about your second question, maybe
some of the other pros around here could better answer ;)

For all I know mine is underpopulated. I just like the combination of
individual brightly colored males (I'm for color, not breeding), and they
all seem to get along great.

The Pleco holds his own. The only fish that occasionally harrasses him is
the Azureus. The peacocks are very docile compared to most mbuna's. Although
the red albino and brichardi will occasionally peck at the crabs, but have
learnt to respect the "claw" I think.

You definantly have a noce colouration group.. There is no doubt about
that... They look healthy and I would think they have an appetite well
matched.. Keep up the good work, as you should be proud of your tank..

All your fish look very good, I would add more rock work if you can,
Africans seem to like the cave action, makes it like home. :)
Keep of the good work.....

Thanks, I'll see about adding more rock.
FWIW, two of the crabs decided to come out and play this evening...

I like your pictures - especially the clarity of them. I've been
struggling with trying to get "bright" pictures without the flash
reflection showing in the picture. Can you tell how you set up the
lighting for the pictures? Thanks in advance.
Here are my pics: http://dvs.ca/fish/ or http://tinyurl.com/ytg8q

What is a Raspberry Pl*co?? Is this a common albino?? From time to time, I
find "chocolate" pl*co's here and there. I like pl*co's, I find them to be
very fasinating, and intresting to watch. ( If I had the cash and space, I
was/will get myself a "sunshine" pl*c.. )... Ah, then the Blues Clues thing
as well, my youngest just loves Blue too, and even has squealers as well...
Now as far the picture thing, if your using the flash, don't take the
pictures of the tank head on ( actually it appears for most of the pictures
you had the angle right ). Is this a Digital Camera? I wonder if you can use
something like PhotoShop to edit the pictures.. There should be some way to
clear the pictures up and have them look sharp...
Tim... Happy Fish Keeping..

All I know of the Raspberry Pl*co is what the breeder told me (he doesn't
breed the pl*cos but does bring them in once in a while). He said they
are rare and hard to get. Mine is very light orangy in colour and no
albino traits at all.
I've been using my very old (1st generation) digital camera to take the
pictures and then just a bit of balancing of the light in software before
saving. I wonder if a higher resolution camera would take better photos?
Maybe I'll try that this weekend with a borrowed camera. I also know that
the lighting in that tank is not very good - only one 4' tube. I'd really
like to make a wooden canopy for the tank and put in 2 banks of 2 lights
to provide some different lighting effects. I've looked at many of the
D-I-Y sites but none that catch my fancy totally.

Pure luck. I borrowed my girlfriend's camera, a Sony DSC-P5. Never used it
before.

For more distinct colours in the fish, ( using a dual bulb light set up )
I use a T8 20w Marine Glo Actinic Spectrum bulb @ 20 000k and a plain white
T8 bulb to help tone down the blue glow a bit .. The fish look fantastic (
when I take the few photos of the community tank ). If I had the money I
would defianatly purchase the dual lamp lighting strip for this purpose (
when I get back home and start breeding it is going to be the T8 shop lamps
with glass tops for the tanks, makes it a lot more cost prohibitive for
me )..
