Aggressive Discus

Maybe some one can explain why a male discus suddenly became aggressive
toward the female, chasing her around the tank and preventing her from
approaching the feeder? I removed him to another tank containing another
discus (not sexed) and once again the same aggressive behavior. If he keeps
this up, he will find himself a loner. He does not display aggressive
behavior to any other fish except on occasion one of the angels. Any
thoughts?
