I posted about this artificial seaweed in this group way back in 1999.
I was trying to find out about it. I saw it in a book that came from
England. The seaweed is only sold in the UK. There are other kinds not
shown in this photograph.
Whoever wrote the book is the same person who set up this aquarium. I
can tell this, even though this above picture wasn't used in the book.

I just found a better shot of it under keywords "plastic seaweed." It
doesn't look so real in this photo. Cheap is a word to use to describe
it. I saw this photo months ago, but was deluding myself it doesn't
exist.

On the other hand, this one, which was in the book is much much better.

Then again, maybe it's real-looking. Compare it to these pieces of
seaweed at the link below which I just came across.

This one above is in the book. If I am not remembering incorrectly,
this very photograph might be too?

Actually, I was considering buying fake fishing lures since some of
them look so real, but they don't look real enough, so I toyed with
the idea of buying fake frogs. I thought over your post last night and
so I bought a siamese fighting fish this morning and a very small
plastic fish tank (maybe five gallons, six tops) and a plastic amazon
plant. I had a huge fishtank about six years ago and a 20-gallon one,
but I got rid of them because I couldn't stand the stress of knowing
that sooner or later the glue would stop holding up on the big one and
because I was having a google of other problems with equipment and it
was such a bother to maintain.
There are some fake plants that look so real and real ones tear and
wilt and die. Also fake corals are as real looking as the real ones. I
bought a fake coral two or three weeks ago just to keep on my shelf.
With fake corals, they come perfectly curved. I will post links to web
sites that have the nicest looking fake corals.
I also decorated my house with fake house plants. Fake stuff rocks!!
Holler if you hear me.

They used to make a crypt plant like the one above in a lighter green
and with white. I can’t find it online and never see it in pet shops,
so I gather they only make it in the green shown in the link above--
which looks like the plastic it is.
http://akamai.edeal.com/images/catalog3684/folder24579/img3038930thmb.jpg
Amazon/Green/Large Penn-Plax
The only nice one is in size Large. Any other size, and the stems look
fake.
There was a fake plant that they don't make anymore that looked really
real, but mine distingrated or I'd post a picture of them.
* Hobby Kunststoff-Pflanzen must only sell their products in Europe
because I’ve spent time trying to find American web sites that sell
their plants.
P.S. If one can tell that a plant is made out of plastic, if the color
is nice and the plastic is nice and if the artists did a good
sculpting job, it's do-able, and better than an ugly plant that's
real. I guess what I'm saying is arbitrary and that most would tend to
disagree.

I bet you also but a fake dick and have stick on tits like your sister
and momma does. Is your momma still chasing troop trains and sucking
dick for free down at the local pub like she and her momma before her
always did? I swear your sister and momma can give one hell of a good
blow job and they swallow too and never spill a drip or have a drop
run off their chin like you do.
I bet yu even have fake orgasms and fake sex huh? Your just a lover of
all things fake........which is a sign of being a ****ing lazy ass
with no desire to have the responsibility to take care of the real
thing. Here grab this chunk of meat between my legs and pull it a few
times and see what something that is not fake is like. Heck your
mommas finger prints are all over it anyhow so your welcome to lick it
clean for her and your sister. Why not go to rec.ponds.moderated with
all this fake crap as there is a fake preacher man there that gets off
on this fake crap and odds are he'll let you blow him too.

Fake stuff is the cat's pajamas. These are two plants of mine. They
look like they're alive. The one with the flower is available at
amazon.com for starting at 39 smackeroos. It's called a "bromeliad." I
don't have sex. It's too much trouble to have to be involved with
women, so I don't anymore. Once a girl didn't believe that I did the
missionary position before because I was doing it so badly because it
reminded me of doing pushups.
I've stained a wall unit that costs me $999 in 1988 dollars and an
antique rug that' been in my family for God only knows how many scores
and warped a chest of drawers and spent thousands of smackers. Plants
like animals and people have life-spans. Fake ones last longer. They
fade. They disintegrate (sp.?) but probably only if you take them outa
of the water?

I worked so hard when I had fishtanks. I would put in the work to keep
live plants alive if they wouldn't wilt and if the fish wouldn't eat
them and if they wouldn't tear in various ways. No one in the world
can keep their plants staying perfect. This post that I posted in here
five years ago this month under an alias is proof of how hard I
worked. Someone in this thread told me it would be a good idea for me
to hang it up because the tanks were bringing me so much grief.

If you accuse me of being too lazy to take care of live things, I'm
going to prove you wrong, it's not that I mistakenly think anyone
cares about my fishtank woes. Maybe people care about obtaining nice
plants that look real, so I posted info on how to obtain them and I
will soon post links I save in my Favorites where to get the best
corals that are synthetic. I think that artificial corals look
waaaaaaay more realistic than artifical plants do and that a trained
eye cannot tell them apart so easuly, even out of water.
