Hi Guys and Gals,
I have a port (female I believe) that is just hanging out in a plant. She
just sits there and doesnt move unless we feed or prompt her to move. Her color
is fine and she is not moving like she ill but all she wants to do is stay in
the plant motionless untill prompted. Anything I should be concerned with here?
thanks.......Cary

if it's new, it may just take some time for it to adjust...
If it's NOT new, then is something 'else' new, like an inhabitant or a
plant, rock, routine??? Some are spooked by things, maybe a kid or a dog
that runs past it? or maybe just once and now it's spooked... just a
thought.

Other fish in the tank are: 2 pink convicts, 2 firemouths,1 jarapuri*, 2 silver
dollars,1 sail fin pleco and a male port. This is a 55 gal tank and has been
cycled properly and the fish were all introduced at the same time, approx 6
months ago. No plants, rocks etc have been added either. All the fish exist
well together so far cept the jarapuri gets chased a lot but other then that
alls been fine until the female port started hiding in the plant. As I stated
before, she eats, swims well and seems to be more colorful now then
ever........Cary

Sounds okay to me.
The only thing I can think of is that your fish are growing.
You could experiment a little bit with things that increase the oxygen
levels in the water. You know - increase water flow, increase air flow,
decrease amount of feeding and so on. But I wouldn't worry about it too
much unless some of the other fish start to get a bit sluggish.
