Any ideas? The suction cups don't seem to want to hold the heater to the
plastic container.. This is not a hard plastic container..

What I do is simply to take the suction cups off and hang the heater
by it's cable. If you have large Cichlids that like to nose heaters
around, hang it in the center of the tank so it doesn't make contact
with anything that can break it. --Mark

you may want to try a brash or aluminum shielding with some old filter foam
and a zip strap. nylon strap shield round the heater foam in back of shield
to keep it aganist breakage and a nylon strap to hold it all together I DONT
KNOW if the foam or strap will melt have to try it in the sink or something
for a day or 2
