View Full Version : Swim bladder disease feeding question?

My goldfish has swim bladder disease, so I have set him up in shallow water
and smooshed up some peas for him to feed on. My question is, should I also
be feeling him the usual flakes, or only feed the peas for two weeks until
the problem is fixed? I have only had him for about a week, the other
goldfish I got at the same time died the next day so I think these guys were
in poor health before I purchased them. Thanks for any advice you can offer!

As cheapa s you can get goldies for place that joker in a zip lock
baggie and place on floor, place foot on goldie and push down hard and
firm until you foot is flat on the floor. You can even do it in bare
feet and it feels neat when the guts finally bust out of its
skin................then just call in the dog or cat to clean up the
remains or wipe up with a paper towl or pickup the baggie and toss in
the trash..........................problem solved.....or maybe just
getb a #10 sized can pof green peas and smush them up and toss the
goldie in that can full of peas...........if allthose peas and pea
water does not fix it, then go the squish on the floor with foot
method.............or see how longi t can stay sober ina glass of beer
or Scotch.that should prove interesting, Let him pickle i that drink
for awhile and you can hang it from a christmas tree as an ornament
later on........wouldlook nice under the angel or star on top.

it is best to not feed at all.

it is a problem with what and how much is fed at one time. soft foods will not cause
floatiness unless too much is given at once. Ingrid

No, its best to flush a el cheapo 29 cent goldie and start again than
wind up spending $30 trying to keep a cheapo goldie
alive.........................Its like stepping over a dollar to
pickup a penny

If you can get goldfish for 29c - you can sell 'em to me in New Zealand
- they cost about $15 each here.

Yes my Fred was only $1.99 at Wal-Mart but if I were worried about the value
of him I would have just kept thinking I got a retarded fish and not done
any research on Google. I'm glad I did, because Fred likes living regardless
of how much money we place on his head. Plus, it turns out he really likes
peas too, lol. Robin

Toss him on the barbie.Koi and goldies cook up pretty decent with some
seasoning and butter wrapped up in alum foil.
