It is NOT hair algae. It does NOT attach itself to anything, plants,
objects, gravel, etc.
It grows VERY rapidly, drops nitrogen levels nicely; and, I have never
see the like of it in 30+ years of aquarium keeping. It is kinda like
marimo balls, in that it appears to be an algae worth keeping.
It grows by itself. However, it will over take plants by growing
through them and around them; to where, you have to take it out of the
tank and remove the plant(s) it has grown around, physically. It is
VERY tough, the stands of it are as if they are made of sewing machine
thread ...
Any ideas?
