Blood parrot question

[Plurality Inc]

We have a blood parrot, and we've noticed that he sometimes changes
colour. He will be a light orange for a few weeks, and then overnight
turn a dark orange and be like that for a few days and then go back.

Is this normal, and what causes this to happen?

That sounds fairly normal.

Here is a good site for info on Blood Parots. One of the few
available that actually have some useful information without a lot of
complaints about the fact that they are a 'man made' fish.
