True as far as it goes.
Really, you need to read some basic "beginners" info.
Try (long URL here...)
http://users.megapathdsl.net/~solo/puregold/care/care1.htm#essentials
Another good one is http://faq.thekrib.com/begin.html

Read them all the way through.

My mom, who is a fantastic and fanactical gardner, once told me, "don't give
up on a plant unless you have killed it three times". I think the same
applies to fish keeping. I was in the same boat as you are now, but it took
more than 3 dead fish before my frustration and pride forced me to do a lot
of research and I still consider myself a novice.

Some of the stuff I read sounded like outrageous "fish snobbery", but are
the real deal if you want to keep fish that live and thrive. The one thing
that sounded the most outrageous, was the 10gallons per goldfish rule. If
you want two fish, get a 20g tank (preferably the longer 20g tank). If you
want three, get a 29g+ tank. Even then you'll probably have to get a bigger
tank as the fish grow.
