damaged fins, goldfish memory

Do damaged fins repair and grow back? One of me goldfish has torn its tail
and a piece tore off.
Do goldfish have memories and if so how long are their memories?

Jacqui,

My Black Moor had shredded tails a few months back, they re-grew perfectly.
Memories - this is a good one. Some people think goldfish only have
5 second memories. I have heard other say 6 months. Mine definitely
do not have 5 second memories as they loiter in the same area as
I add the food, and they recognise me (I think).

My fantails have been bullied by a new comet lately and have tored fins
too. Luckily the fins seem to repair it pretty quickly - I guess as long
as you can keep the water quality up.

BTW, the comet has been sent to my relatively unattended outside pond...

I think a bit of sea salt in the tank, helps fins heal too.
