If you use any of their products and need replacement parts or it
breaks, you're 100% screwed.

True but not true. You are not 100% screwed. I have received several
emails from several sites which indicate that customsealife will still
support the products through other means. If you need a part contact your
favorite site.

That's a patriotic, reassuring message the vendor is giving their
customers. What they mean is they will try to find substitutes for
CustomSeaLife products. CustomSeaLife **IS** gone and none of their
manufactured products are available from them anymore. For example
they custom manufactured Metal Halide bulbs to strict specs (one of
the reasons they were able to publish their spectral patterns). I
confirmed with several vendors that these bulbs are no longer
available.
They also made several fixtures with custom sizes that no other
lighting manufacturer currently makes. (For example Metal Halide /
PowerCompact combo prism pendants.) These are now gone as well, and
there are no other substitutes for now.

And also, that vendor took down their message.

They are definitely gone and so are their products. Maybe you're not
100% screwed, but if you want their custom bulbs, fixtures, and parts,
you're SOL.
CustomSeaLife had some major problems. They had a massive shipment of
PowerCompact/Moonlite combo fixtures with non working fans go out to
vendors, and they couldn't recall them without going bankrupt.
Add to this lawsuits filed against them from insurance companies over
certain skimmers that they made that caught fire, and their fate's
pretty much sealed.
