View Full Version : SERIOUS ETHICAL question about what i've done

June 3rd 04, 08:54 PM
So during last spring semester at college I lived in a frathouse with
the majority of my fellow brothers. On of the brothers is a complete
piece of trash. I mean real scum. This guy would skim hundreds of
dollars out of our dues fund to furnish his room and pay for his share
of the rent. He is also disgustingly fat and smells like horse crap,
but that is another matter. I'm just trying to set the stage for what
a dishonest, self-absorbed disgusting freak this guy is. Anyway, the
only thing he liked more then eating and being an asshole and watching
TV was his fishtank. From what I could estimate it was about an 80
gallon thing. Huge. He had all sorts of fish in it which he always
boasted about paying lots of money for. I always thought to myself
"yeah, money you imbezzled from the house fund." There were beautiful
fish of all sizes in it and I must admit for as big a jerk as he was,
he did a good job setting it up. Anyway, to get to the point, one day
I got fed up with this asshole and when he wasnt there I snuck into
his room and poured an entire bottle of aristocrat vodka into the
tank. Needless to say, a holocaust ensued. By the next night, EVERY
SINGLE fish in the tank had been wiped out. There were even some
around the tank on the floor which means they must have jump to their
doom in order to escape the agony of the toxic water. You couldn't
even see into the tank there were so many floaters. Let me tell you
how ****ed this guy was, he ended up fistfighting like half the
brotherhood in his rage. He never suspected me for some reason tho so
i got away SCOT-FREE. My question is, is there an ethical concern for
massacring so many fish? Or was I justified because this guy was such
a waste of life? At anyrate, the plan worked perfect, and I slept
better then I have in a long time.

What I want to know is if my plan works... First, you, the troll, posts some
stupid message looking to get someone upset and sit back and start a flame
war... We're a bit too smart for trolls like you... keep moving on
trollboy...

Of course, you're a troll... we don't expect you to totally understand the
scope and consequences of what you 'say' you've done...

I'll rest easy, cuz most loser trolls, such as yourself, actually didn't do
anything, you're just looking to get a rise out of someone...

...ain't gonna happen...

For those of us who are diligently turning in losers like this, here's his
info

he's at IP 198.151.12.8

I'm not Red, but I can give an answer. It's really pretty simple.
I think you can use software like SpamCop to get info on news messages
-- I know it works on mail, not sure about news. Or you can do it
manually:
First have to show the message headers. You used Google Groups to
post, so when viewing the message click "View this article only" then
"Original Format". to show the headers. I can see you used Google by
the following 2 lines:

Organization: http://groups.google.com
Message-ID: >
(If you use a newsreader, it will be revealed. The message you
replied to posted by cabaloz shows he uses Outlook Express:
X-Newsreader: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2800.1409)

The posters IP address is in the message headers. According to your
post, your IP is :
NNTP-Posting-Host: 69.161.51.96

Take the IP address to http://www.arin.net/whois/index.html and
search.
That shows your provider is
Search results for: 69.161.51.96 Adelphia Cable Communications

Adelphia Cable Communications ADELPHIA-CABLE-7 (NET-69-160-0-0-1)
69.160.0.0 - 69.175.255.255
Adelphia 69-161-32-0-Z3 (NET-69-161-32-0-1)
69.161.32.0 - 69.161.63.255
Click the link for the subnet or the IP (69.161.32.0-69.161.63.255 and
you get the following:
CustName: Adelphia
Address: 1 North Main Street
City: Coudersport

# ARIN WHOIS database, last updated 2004-06-03 19:15
# Enter ? for additional hints on searching ARIN's WHOIS database.

Once you have the info, you can sometimes get even more by going to
the company web site, just tack www in from of the email domain, in
this case www.adelphiacom.net.

If you follow the Parent link, you can find the provider of the
company in question (unless the company is a top level provider, as
SAIC and Adelphia appear to be). Some companies ignore complaints
about spam from there system, as it can be a lot of work tracking down
the culprit. Complain to the business's ISP, and have them face the
potential loss of their internet connection, and they suddenly become
more cooperative.

SAIC is a large government contractor in southern cal, not an ISP.

You can always drop into command prompt and play with nbstat switches, that
usually gives you some pretty accurate info.

You're right, didn't mean to imply they were an ISP. Used to be you
could follow the Parent link back through all the ISPs supplying a
company's internet connection until you reached one of the major
backbone providers, such as, Sprint, MCI, UUNet, etc. Now IP ranges
may be directly allocated by ARIN, APNIC, RIPE, etc, so the provider
of a company internet connection is harder to track down.
