I went to the site. A work in progress! Blank pages for water gardens and
just words for Koi. Decidedly increases my confidence in the resources
offered (nutrient for bacteria to attack algae...with monthly repeat
treatments needed.

Yes the site is a work in progress, I spend most of my time helping
people with algae. I chose to start on the larger areas first simply
because its easier to see the work I have done. Koi ponds and water
gardens are very easy to do, the larger arenas pose a bigger problem.
Stay tuned, I will have the site up totally as soon as I can devote
more time to it. In the meantime, the forum is up and ready, post
questions there, I do check it every day :)

I am NOT a spammer, if you were unable to see what can be done with
aquatics, I am sorry. I merely came here to offer the expertise I have
and share with others. If the knowledge here is so profound an no help
is needed, just let me know :)

PW...do you treat algae problems in any other way, besides the bacteria you
advertise on your site?

OUCH! The hostility of PW is countered by Bonnie's upper cut. Those
Jersey Girls are tuff. Maybe the "BOSS" was singing about her.

Sometimes I find that people destroy the beneficial bacteria and its necessary to add a beneficial bacteria, I have ones that i prefer, but it just comes from years of working in aquatics.

Exactly what does kelp do for freshwater
algae?
It can't be alive so it seems that it would just
add to the nutrient load in the pond.

I guess what I meant was...do you have any non-additive treatments? I don't
like dumping anything in my pond, so I have managed algae blooms with
plants. Now admittedly, I am first season ponder, so I may have beginners
luck, but IMHO, I'd rather way-overplant a pond to control algae, and then
throttle plants back as needed instead of dumping chemicals or other
'additives'.
I figured as an algae expert, you would have an arsenal of attack methods,
that include more then just additives.

And I still want to know what kelp does for algae.

My backyard pond had an algae bloom that lasted two years. My large koi
wouldn't leave any plants alone long enough for them to do their
job. I put up a shade cloth (easily removable) and it (the pond)
cleared pretty quick. Shade works fine for me.
