I have some plastic stalked and silk leaved plants in my tank. The stalks
are reinforced with wire, and in one or two places I can see rust forming
under the surface. Should I toss these things? How dangerous is the rust
to the fish?

Also, I notice a lot of tank ornaments are painted, and they will chip after
a period of time. I'm assuming the people who make these things have enough
sense to use non-toxic paint?

not dangerous unless you got acidic water. chipped ornaments are more of a problem
.... as are most ornaments not made specifically for fish tanks. Ingrid
