Hi, all. Never posted here before and probably never will again, since I
don't own goldfish myself. But I'm ticked, and I thought this would be the
best place to come to vent about it.

MediaPlay (US-based entertainment store) is advertising that they are giving
away goldfish as part of a "Finding Nemo" promotion.

So, a store that knows nothing about animal care is going to dispense fish
to people who are probably not going to be properly equipped or informed
about caring for goldfish. As an animal lover, this seems like just another
way of promoting pets as being disposable. "It only lived three days, but
at least it was free."

I already wrote to them, but I'm still kind of riled...

Yes this is bad. I bet most of the owners will buy goldfish bowls too

I hate seeing them give goldfish as prizes at the local carnivals... They put
them in little bowls and then if someone tosses a ping pong ball and it lands
in the bowl, they get the fish in a bag... They have a few aquariums with them
in it, but then they have big 55gal garbage cans stuffed with them - many
trying to jump out... Makes me really sick... There's my vent...

Yes it sounds like someone should complain about it to make them stop!
