Snail poop - my goodness

I moved my two apple snails into a small tank recently as I needed
to salt my baby moors tank. I am amazed at the amount of poop
these snails excrete - the water has turned cloudy in only 2 days!

If you moved the snails in a smaller tank then the bio bugs have to adjust
to the new bio load. if the snails were in thier orgianl tank and this
problem comes up, ussally there is a sick, dying or dead snail in the tank.
I have 12 adult snails and 15 - 30 babies right now in a 29 and the water
is clear, if it clouds I know there is a dead one that I missed and have to
get it out right away! 4 of the adults are almost 3 years old so I have to
watch them closly! A dead apple snail in a tank does not smell pleasent!
