View Full Version : yellow belly?

I just replaced our incandescent bulb with a flourescent bulb and since it's
brighter, I'm noticing some things about my fish. One of them is getting a
yellow belly. Should I be alarmed? He is a mottled (calico, if you will)
colored fish, I'm sure there is a technical name... The yellow just doesn't
"go" with the rest of him.

TIA,
Stephanie

I have a red/white (mostly white) Ryukin doing the same; getting a yellow
tinge to the white around the belly. Is it water-related? I have 3 of them
and only the one has this discoloration. This one also laid eggs a few
weeks ago (was alone at the time, so no fertilization). Just wondered if
that has anything to do with it.
