Well, I've been searching for a mobile phone recently, and the tariff
I was interested is Orange.

Now I didn't rush into my contract, and spent a long time working out
which phone provided the best benifits & which contract suited me.

Anyway, to the point, Orange retailers have fish tanks.

They do attempt to keep the fish well. I suspect RSPCA has done their
best not to stress the fish and has demanded big tanks, plenty of
filtration etc.

The only problem is that most tanks face big open windows (oh-oh,
green water) and the others are in big shopping malls, with lights on
24/7

Notably, the fish are quite stressed. It only takes one mother with a
toddler to stress them more with the little hands banging on the
tank...

The fish aided me with my selection of the right dealer. I thought,
if they can keep their fish alive a month, they're obviously the right
kind of dealer.

Shop 1, 2 & 3 had several large goldfish, several small goldfish & a
few odd fish I've never seen before. During weeks 1-2 all fish fine.
Week 3, store 1 had loosing scales, and possible dropsy. Store 2:
Green water. Store 3: fish very inactive. week 4: store 1: fish dead.
Store 2: Green water mysterously damaged. All fish seem to have
gone... Store 3: fish looking quite unhealthy.

So althought store three was quite unhealthy, I realised it was going
to be difficult to find a store where the fish survived a month in
healthy manor. I went to Carphone warehouse.

Dang....I am desperate to find homes for my friends... Everyone seems to end
far away... The closest offer I had the fellow was two hours away and did
want to go that far for these guys...

Yep, UK I'm afraid!

If you're desperate to get rid of 'em, I'd drive them over to the
other guys. I thought you Americans were used to long distances? :- )

I'm only 8hrs by plane...

Couldn't you have met halfway? I'd drive an hour for my fish, don't know about
the rest of you. :-]
