blackening

I lost a link to a page that discribes common conditions that occur on fish,
my 6-10 inch goldfish are turning black starting around the gills and
spoting on the sides . Can someone direct me to a link that I can use or
explain what might be the cause.

Black is what you see when the tissues are healing. Sometimes it's
seen on fish who have been in bad water and are healing from ammonia
burns. How are your parameters?
