Since I'm on high alert for symptoms now, I've noticed my shubunkin's right
gill seems to have curved out. This a problem or do I just need to grab him
and gently curl it back. The gill itself is flat against the fish, but a
small part of it has lifted. Await pictures...

it is a mutation. actually, this is bred for.. both gills of course, not just one.

so, if I do some damn crafty breeding, I could develop a new type of
goldfish. I'll name it the Thompson Curler...
