Vikki, what are the complete dimensions? Sounds like you are currently massively
overstocked!

Unless you've made a mistake with your measurements, or your tank is
extremely wide, then you are exceptionally overstocked. By my reckoning,
estimating a height of 18 cms, you tank only holds approximately 5 gallons,
which isn't even big enough for 1 goldfish let alone 6! Pease don't add any
more fish, it's already a disaster waiting to happen.

17" wide x 10 " deep x (12" high?) = 1.18 cubic feet x 7.5 gal per cubic ft
= 8.8 gallons

waaaaaay overstocked and dont even think about keeping catfish or other fish with
goldfish. Ingrid

I am no good at reading off and remembering measurements what I do know is
my tank is fine for my little family
there are places I have been where I have seen many fishes in a small space
so not fair for them :(

Just like the way people keep some animals in small spaces they need room to
move grow and have fun so
before I even bought my fishes I worked out size and space

The only reason I asked is because I know animals become territorial like my
cat at 14 years he still gets upset
if his space is invaded

So I thought perhaps fish do to which is why I wondered if adding sucking
cat fish would bring on this behavior

I am no good at reading off and remembering measurements what I do know is
my tank is fine for my little family>>>

Do you have a testing kit? If not I'd recommend taking some of your tank water
to a pet store and have them test it for you. These should be the results:
Ammonia 0, Nitrate 20, Nitrite 0. If they're not, the tank is not "fine." Based
on your stocking level I suspect the water parameters are way off.
