Water Change Question - siphon gravel too?

That depends on how thick the gravel is. Most people should vaccum the
gravel trying to keep non-vaccum disturbance to a minimum.

However, people with 1/4 inch gravel (as recommended by some) should
stir.

I for one don't use gravel with goldies.

best thing is to put the siphon into the gravel - leave it there for a minute
or 2 - then move it to another spot - don't stir up the gravel.
