View Full Version : GF has large round white bump on tail

He's had it for sometime and it may be getting larger. I've noticed another one forming on his tail, in between to two tail fins. I checked out the Puregold site and didn't find anything that would relate to this.
Anyone have any ideas?

really small lumps .. clear are the epithelial tissues responding to some irritant
and growing out.. sorta like a wart. Ingrid

Ingrid,
The lump is about 1/2" in diameter and all white, as well and the smaller
one growing inside the tailfin. The other fish appear unaffected as they
show none of the same simptoms.
Do you think I should do anything about it or just let him be?
Thanks,
Trevor

if it is soft, sorta squishy then it could be bacterial and feed antibiotic food. if
it is hard something that size could be lymphocystis. Ingrid

My big Bubba, 9" 7yr old feeder (Common Goldfish)
sometimes gets a white bump on his lower lip, always
in the same spot. It kind of comes and goes, biggest I've
seen it is about 1/8" diameter. I think it's what Ingrid said
about responding to some iritant, in this case bumping into
the side of tank or rocks, I think he smacks his beak once
in a while, usually because he's not happy about water
conditions or parasites or something else.

i have a discus which sometimes got a white bump, guess what.....it was
because I use too many additives all at once, iron, stress zyme, black
water, trace elements, vitamins, you name them i had them. I use to put them
all at once during a water change. Then this poor fish use to get a white
spot afterwards. I left it alone and a few days after it was gone.
Maybe thats it, you are using way too much things in your water.
hope this helps.
