Ammonia levels

I have had a 60L tank set up for 7 days and today got an ammonia testing
kit.

I then tested the water and the results came out as 0.0 ammonia?

this should be higher shouldnt it after just 7 days.
should be 5.0 or something?

Might sound a silly question, but do you have fish in the tank?
As for the ammonia, depending on the size of the fish, it cna take a couple
of weeks to show up.
