Hi all;
I have two white commons, and one is turning progressively lemon yellow. Not
gold fish color, LEMON! If he was a human, I'd have him to a liver
specialist. He seems quite healthy, growing at the same rate as the one who
is staying white. (they are about 1-1/2 years old) I've never seen this
color before! It's strongest in his face and the bases of the fins, but you
can see it all over now. Does Homer have a problem, or is this a normal
change?
Thanks,

<g> Homer is a great name for him.

you are feeding color enhancing food, right?
actually, yellow color is rare and people look for yellow ones. Ingrid

Only some blurry ones. I'll have to borrow my DFILs camera, it has less
shutter delay and a closer focal lenght.

I originally named him Homer because he ate so much, but it seems he's going
to fit the looks, too! (and I've seen him hit the glass a few times, I swear
he went "Doh!") (this was in the first couple of days after I put him in the
new tank)

Yeah, the food is color enhancing. Never even thought about that. So I guess
that proves he eats more than Ophelia does- since she is still white.

Rare, eh. But I'm guessing now he wouldn't be rare since it's the food, most
likely?

I need to find a page on gf genetics. There were no yellow fish in the pond
these two came out of- I think there were 3 orange and one white with an
orange splotch on the head. None of the other babies got to grow up.

Thanks, Ingrid. I was afraid he was ill!
