My fish died.

Hi,got a 10 gallon hex tank in which I had 3 goldfish.
Noticed one of them had a small swelling on his flank.
Yesterday all 3 had white spot,so I treated them for it.
Did a 50% water change,treated the water with anti ammonia
and chlorine remover/conditioner.
Just got home from work and all 3 are dead.
Is it normal for whitespot to kill fish in just a few hours.
These fish had whitespot a few months back,but after
treating them they were all ok.
I'm gutted about losing them,is it my fault?
I didn't do anything differently regarding the water change,
or using the whitespot treatment.

Yeah but if you put 3 in a 10gallon, they will never grow properly!!

10 gal per fish or 3 gallons per inch, whichever is larger... ;-)

Yes, you CAN keep 10 goldfish in a 10 gallon tank. Just not for long...

Goldfish halt size increase when they utilize the existing space. When space is
available they resume growth. If you put 3 small fish in a 10 and move them up
in tank size, they grow each move.
If you follow up with; "their growth will be stunted," don't, it's a myth.
