Oh, No!, I drop my fish

I drop my beloved oranda 30 minutes ago. It fall about 4 feet to hardwood
floor. The fish is about 4 inch long without tail and it is fat. It is
swimming in the tank now and I am wondering what I can do to save it or it
is a gonner soon. Help :-(

It might be alright. If it is swimming around alright, it is probably sore..
I seen an Oscar take an eight foot drop from a tank at a LFS and the fellow
lived.. ( or at least it was alive when I left the store half an hour
later... ) Strange but true...

Dropped? How were you handling him/her? IF he/her is swimming ok should be fine,
just keep
a good eye out for the next few weeks.

next time use some c-clamps to handle him

When I was a kid with goldfish in a bowl (hey! I was young! There was no
internet to learn from!) I dropped the bowl during the daily water change.
It shattered and of course both fish hit the floor. One was right at my feet
and got put into a glass right then; the other slid across the lino clear
under the dining table; we didn't find him til 10 minutes later (mind you,
I'm gushing blood during this mad search, because a large chunk of glass hit
my foot, but I wouldn't stop looking and deal with it til Salt was found-
much to my mother's panic.) Both fish lived for about another year, so I
doubt the fall had anything to do with their demise.
