Hello

I saw your website and I hope you can help. I built a 125 gallon
pond for my backyard (using a plastic insert). I then put 10 gold
fish in it. Within 24 hours all 10 where dead. I assumed it got to
cold at night, so I installed 2 heaters and got the temp steady at 68
degrees F, then put in 10 new gold fish...all 10 where dead by the
next morning 4 where dead that night.... I have a fountain/pump
cirulating the water, the water is fresh and clear...what am I doing
wrong? Can you help me? Please email me if you have any suggestions:

Did you dechlorinate the water? Have you checked the PH? Did you acclimatise
them well by floating them in bags? Is it possible that the water could have
been contaminated by anything? Is the pond filtered? How long was the pond
set up before you introduced the fish?
Whatever your answers to these questions you really shouldn't be adding 10
fish all at once as it takes a while for the friendly bacteria to get used
to the new waste load created by the fish. It's best to add 1 or 2 fish
every couple of weeks.
Mel.
