aquarium software by
Mike Endsley
I hate asking this but is there any free software for aquariums/fish
logging?
I found some shareware and commercial products via a search.
Being unemployed does have its drawbacks :(
TIA,
Mike

Is it possible to set up a mini-ecosystem with reproducing predators and prey? by
Coryadaurus Rex
I was wondering if anything like what follows is even remotely possible in
a home aquarium: a system where there are reproducing predators and prey
(hopefully including fish in both categories) which balance out each other
in a miniature ecosystem. Is it possible for fish to hide from predators...

Angel fish staying at the surface by
Steve
I just got a new tank a few weeks ago and have put in mostly angel fish.
The fish were fine and a week or so later I put in three spotted catfish and
I put a colorful backing on the back of the tank.
Now, the angel fish won't leave the surface of the water unless I feed them.
Any...

Conscientious Aquarists: should fish come from farms or the wild? by
Coryadaurus Rex
I was wondering where conscientious aquarists think tropical fish should
ideally come from. From the wild or from farms?
Personally, I don't like the idea of taking fish from the wild to fill up
my aquarium. I think fish farming is more environmentally-friendly and
sustainable.
On the other hand,...

betta behaviour by
RedForeman ©®
Is the flaring of a betta's fins a sign of it NOT liking that he's seeing
himself in the reflection of my tank, or is he seeing himself and saying,
"I'm so beautiful"? I've got him in a tank with a black back and he's
seeing himself and flaring his fins, and his neck at himself... After a

Leopard Danio seems to be bullying Zebra Danio by
Lady Samsara
I currently have 3 Leopard Danios and 1 Zebra Danio in my 10 gallon
tank. All parameters are within range. The other night I noticed
what looked like nicks in the Zebra Danios sides. It moves so fast it
was hard to see exactly what it was, but the skin looked marred. It
is not red or bleeding. ...
