Follow-up on Sailfin Pleco outgrowing Tank by
Trevor Stenson
Hey good group,
Thanks again for the advice.
I put driftwood in my tank, which he has clearly been mauling. I've
also been feeding him a algae tablet ever second day (I drop it right in
front of his cave). If I don't get an algae bloom I may increase it to
once a day if necessary. I've also...

TOBS: Is Evolution and Science a Religion: Carl Sagan says Yes by
King7rook5
The popular scientist Carl Sagan, for example, once stated in an
interview: “If you look into science you will find a sense of intricacy,
depth, and exquisite beauty which, I believe, is much more powerful than
the offerings of any bureaucratic religion.” Then he added: “I would not
even object to...

Gravel per gallon? by
Suzie-Q
How much? I've read 1.5 lbs of gravel per gallon. That would mean
82.5 lbs for a 55 gallon tank. Is this right?

Fry size question by
Kurt
I've got a couple of Rosey Barb fry that I discovered when I took down
a 10g community tank. They were rescued and placed in 5g tank to grow a
bit. My question is how big should they be before introducing them into
the 33g community tank with their parents? Currently on appears to be
about 3/8 inch...

Glow Fish by
Rick
I went to one of the chains in our town today and saw "Glow Fish" with a
trade mark cymble. The label went on to say engineered to glow in the dark,
works better with a UV light, ect. What is that all about????
And I felt bad about Blood Parrots.

120 gallons by
MEAlston
Is it feasible to order a large tank online and expect a minimal shipping
charge? I would like to own a 120g but I'm afraid I'd have to order it...or
would constructing my own be the better way to go?....Tempered glass is
pricey today, isn't it? -ED

What kind of filter? by
Mariachi
Going to get the filter for my new tank on thrusday. What kind would
you suggest? It is a 36g Hex and I plan on having a mix of 4
a.agassizii and a.cacatuoides w/ 5-7corys in there. Just wondering what
would be the best option for a filter? hang-on, internal or canister?

Another Goldfish "sudden death" :( by
Koi-Lo
I fed them this morning and all were fine. Nothing looked amiss. I went
back an hour or so later and found an Oranda dead in the plants! No
sickness, no loss of appetite, no fin rot and a scrape showed no parasites.
It died quickly and with no symptoms. I had this fish over a...

Cory Schwartz query by
stuarth
Any one got any info on the Cory Schwartz cat?
I hear they've got sharp barbs?
So I'm hesitant about adding a couple to a tank since my local shop
keeper informed me about this aspect of them.

Please Help by

As a followup to my previous post, thinking it was possibly PH shock, I
put a couple of my mollies in the new tank (since they like alkaline
water and are used to my water and they turned whitish and started to
die within an hour. Everything in the tank is new. Any thoughts? An
artifical plant,...

Funny aquarium game by
Altum
http://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/fishtycoon.jsp
This is a virtual aquarium game. You breed fish, raise them, and sell
them in your store to make money for supplies and equipment. Your fish
can even get fungus and ich.
It's really funny!

cory cat epidemic by

It seems that every corycat I get eventually succumbs to the same
disease. The only symptom is that the fish loses its balance and cannot
swim or lie on the gravel straight. Eventully the fish dies. All my
water parameters are good, the temperature is 78F and I keep 2
angelfish, a pleco, some...

freshwater tanks. Would that person go into greater detail the principles
