Convict Cichlid Question by
Matthew Lovell
Hey there,
I have a ten gallon tank with two baby convicts in it. Now, these two
fish are black convicts and are not more than an inch long. I have had
no problems except having to relocate my neon tetras and other than that
they seem to be getting along fine. However, more recently I...

Hi All,
First time poster here. Someone recomended this NG for

Baking soda in cichlid tank!! by
'nutherBob
Tonight I cleaned my 29 gal tank. The kid decided he would try to get the
mineral deposit off of the glass that covers the light hood with baking
soda. He carefully rubbed and got it all off, rinsed it two or three times
to where the glass was squeaky clean. When I put the hood back on the...

Detritivores and Cichlids. by
Glenn Serpas
Are their any detritivores(eat waste, extra food, scales) for a Mbuna
Cichlid aquarium? I know certain snails, crabs and micro-fauna perform this
task in marine aquariums. However, I've googled for "Freshwater and
detritivore", but found not found what I'm looking for.
Thanks,
Glenn

Dwarf Green Spotted Puffers by
Amyotte
hello,
I was wondering, I have 3 dwarf puffers in a 2.5 gallon, it seems that 2 of
the three have paired off and kinda left the other. The third puffer is
skinny. What I was wondering is should I buy a fourth puffer so that the
third and the fourth pair off (maybe) or should not disrupt the first...

jewels by
battlelance
(I originally posted this in alt.aquaria, and figured here would be a
better place to ask. Sorry for the double posting if anyone notices)
I'm curious, I've recently taken in two jewel cichlids (a guy I knew
was getting rid of them), and I have them happily floating around in
their own 20 gal.
I...

New pictures by
Chris C.
Just a quick note to let all of you know I have added a few pictures of
when I turned my back and side yard into a breeding facility. Just
click the link for breeding. This is a true example of a hobby gone
crazy, and after all of this I'm still married. :)

Kay
Before I posted that th emale injured the female, and the fish whas cuts
and fungus. Netmax sugested to look att he tank and any objects that

Mystery fish by
Rich
hey all
I recently made a trip to the LFS in hopes of finding a female Malawi
peacock to "accompany" my various male reds and yellows in my tank.
They have a tank over there labeled "Asst. Females". I took a stab and found
the most peacock-looking female I could find.
So, what type of fish did I...

Light stocking of african cichlids by
Chris Gentry
Hello,
I'm fairly new to aquariums and have never kept african cichlids. I
bought a 75g tank from the lfs about 2 years back and kept some community
fish in it for awhile. Due to a really busy schedule I didn't have much
time to take care of them and some of them died. Most others I gave away...

Help with new SeaClear aquarium by
Cheri
I bought over the net a SeaClear acrylic with hood. These hoods are
specially fitted for this aquarium. The hood came with ONE light socket,
although it is wide enough for two. There is a small plug haning off one
end of the socket, as though perhaps you could add a second fixture. I have
no...

Flash Wilson
Hello. I don't normally post here, but I do read it.
Anyway - I have a 4ft tank which I want to slowly convert to be

(a pleco and similar, which hide by day under wood), 4 kribs,
3 clown loaches and 3 tiger barbs.
Some of the older...

Setting up a new 50g bredding tank for Green Severum... hints, tips please? by
Kevin
Well, as the subject implies, I'm getting a 50g tank set up for breeding
green severum. I've always thought they were gorgeous fish, and there
seems to be quite a bit of interest from the local fish stores for tank
raised severum.
I've done quite a bit of reading online and with various other...
