Snail Invasion by
[email protected]
Hi
I run a 200L freshwater Tank for almost 2 years now. 3 Months ago, my
tank developed a bad algae problem... Last month I've put in 3 snails to
solve it.
Now the algae seems to be under control, but I have to remove 20 to 30
Snails a week.
How can I get rid of both?

Auntybea
I need help! My 3 year old fantail who has been very healthy except for
constipation all her life, has been sitting on the bottom of the tank for the
past 2 weeks or more, too heavy to swim. I have tried giving her peas, she
has eaten them for a couple of days, but has been unable to poop...

Low Nitrates by

My Nitrates are testing low. Does that mean a tank is cycled? I say NO,
because Ammonia is present.

keeping freshwater fish years ago, by giving me my first two tanks, a
ten and then a 30 gallon 'Bow' tank [I now have 9 tanks up and running,

me an...

The Aqua clear BRAND name, I was referring to.

Eclipse Hex 5 Tank by
T r u L u
I have upgraded to this tank with the bio-wheel. Is the bio-wheel better
than say an Aqua Clear hob? I got 2 differing opinions from the store
ppl. The manager said both are good. Clerk said Bio wheel is the best.
In my new 5 gallon, I have a dwarf gourami, a tiny corycat, a baby honey
gourami...

Swim bladder/float issues in 12 yo Common by

I post every 2 years or so with a new/unidentifiable issue with my one

Here's my situation: I have one 8-inch 12 yo common goldfish in 29
gallons. It's unheated, but we're in Southern California, so he
hovers around 70-74...

9-13 bog plants, 6 floaters, 44 submerged plants. For 11'x11' to

Marla and Andrew
Hey,
Just recently picked up a few goldfish for my daughter. The water was
as clear as a bell last night, cloudy this morning. I kept fish about 20
years ago. I have 2 two inch fish in a 5 gallon tank. Charcoal filter on
the back. Any suggestions?

Never Put Angelfish In With A Male Gourami! by
L u A n n
I put a cute little Angelfish in the same tank with my male dwarf
gourami. Big mistake! Mr.Gourami immediately bullied the poor little
Angel and kept chasing after him and nipping at his fins. My female
Gourami couldn't care less.
Mr.Gourami is usually peaceful, except when Ms.Gourami is hungry....

Questions from a newbie by
marquintosh
Howdy, let me give you some background first. I bought a couple of
baby orandas (1.5") for my daughter and a eclipse hex-5 tank knowing
that the goldfish will growth soon and that 5g is not a good home for
them, but the idea was to start small. After 3 weeks they are now
2.5".
I wanted to wait and...

I'm Happy With My Gouramis...BUT by

They are much more hardy than Goldfish..and they are labyrinth so they
can breathe oxygen. The water is crystal clear at last. The only problem
is the ammonia level is off the wall. I have to do water changes almost
every night, and even after I change like 90% of the water, the card
still reads a...
