Goldfish and peas by
John D. Goulden
OK, a dumb question - I have read that is a good thing to feed goldfish peas
on occasion. I assume these are green garden peas. How do you prepare them
for gf? Cooked or raw? Skinned or not? Whole or broken up? My gf aren't
large (2 inches or so) and have no health problems that I know of - should...

How much light for plantless tank? by
[email protected]
Hi
How much light (how many hours) should there be if ur GF tank doesn't
have any real plants? And about elodias, I've seen them being kept in
dark buckets in water for days and they were green as ever and grew
longer. So i was wondering if elodias need light at all or what?

What should I do to my SBD goldfish? by
[email protected]
Hi
My oranda as some of you might know has swimbladder problems. I really
think it's a genetic problem and cannot be cured because I have tried
all that starving-it-for-3-days stuff and then feeding it boiled peas
for the next 3 days (to let u know, i feed my orandas peas regularly).
And anyway,...

The Eheim Ecco and GF by
[email protected]
I have a 50 gallon tank populated by two GF about 7"-8" long. I've
recently moved into a situation where doing regular water changes has
become a lot more inconvenient. My local fish supplies store advises
me to replace my current Whisper 3 with a Eheim Ecco 2236, on the
grounds that all that...

Adding new fish by
Newbie Bill
I have two tanks which I think should have a little 'headroom' to add a few
more fish. Water parameters are excellent and I test and change water
regularly. I am considering small danios and/or black skirt tetras. One
tank has 3 aeneus(sp) cories, 2 ottos and 3 Buenos Aires tetras. The other
has...

Lethargic Goldfish? by
Mark Colley
Hi
I'm hoping someone might be able to give me some advice please.
I've had Dillon for about 5 years. He's just a normal goldfish with a
fantail. He's in a 3ft tank (20gallons) on his own and I clean him
regularly. For the last few days he seems to be spending a lot of time on
the bottom of the...

In tank veggie filter by
Bill Stock
I want to build a corral for my tank, so I can keep a few floating plants
safe from the nibblers. I was considering removing one of the glass covers
(24*18) and replacing it with a Plexiglas box (24*18*6) deep drilled with
multiple holes. I would put one of the filter returns inside the box...

Filter Question by
Me@home
My daughter was bought a new 45 litre fish tank for her birthday. She has
now re-housed her three gold fish - she has had these for a number of
months/years. However, the new filter/ air pump is very very noisy indeed.
Question is: will it harm the fish if this is turned off completely
overnight? ...

Goldfish substrate confusion for a new tank by
Stephen Ruiz
Please let me know if gravel is really a high risk for the goldfish? I am
preparing to setup up a 24x18x24 (45gal) tank and would like some more
information about using an undergravel filter with gravel--pros and cons. I
have an emperor 280 filter running on another tank that I plan to use in...

Reaction to colour? by
Bill Stock
Anyone else have their GF react to what they're wearing? I'm probably
anthropromorphizing (sp), but they always seem to scatter when I wear my
bright red winter coat.
