marcos
Dr Solo, when u said "never leave good food sitting out", did u mean
the dried GF food i was talking about or was it the Aquadine u were
talking about? i read that u shudn't store dried food in the fridge or
they'll get damp n go off.
(sorry, i was unable to post a reply from the previous thread...

Swim Bladder but on the Bottom? by
Brian Steele
Hi,
First I'd like to say thank you for all of the helpful information that you
provide. I've learned a lot over the last 6 months from the newsgroups and
went from losing a goldfish a month to not losing any at all (I think it's
been at least 5 months). Of course I had to change almost...

Something's wrong... by
Jon Pike
Okay, one of my koi's seems to be getting sick. I noticed just today that
on his belly he's got reddish/brownish lumps. Normally it's flat white.
What could this be?
TIA.

Fish hanging out at top of tank by
Devin
Got an odd one here. I have a large fantail that hangs out at the top of my
40 gallon tank. He looks for all the world like he's floating from a food
problem. BUT, and I say again, BUT... if I put him in my 12 gallon hospital
tank, he's just fine. Never floats or anything. I just finished the...

Reading water tests by
Jon Pike
Should water tests be read with a light shining through it, and held up
against the white part of the card, or in shadow, held up against the white
part of the card?

celestials by
Starfish
I heard that celestials shouldn't be put in an aquarium with other fish
because they can't see the food ....umm...i thought fish smelled their
food....and besides...i have a blind blackmoor that does better at eating
than the fish that aren't blind!
What do you think??

snails... by
Jon Pike
Okie doke. So my tanks are completely infested with snails.
I've heard some people say "get loaches" but the kuhli's I got aren't doing
much at all.
I've also heard people say "never use those snail killing chemicals" but
I've never really heard why.
Any other ways of getting rid of -all- the...

Water Changes and Decorations by
Daniel Phillips
Do you all take your decorations (hiding spots, etc.) out when you do
a water change and vacuuming? Do you put them back in? How do you
ensure that the aquarium isn't dirtied by the water on the decoration
when you put it back in?
I decided to try to leave the decoration out to see if the...

Live foods, healthier fish? by
Kudzu
Have a question. I have had three goldfish that have died, all started
with bladder problems and eventually died with pine-coning. I have
kept fish for years the tanks chemistry was good etc. etc. No obvious
problems, all the fish lived healthy for at least a year before they
became sick. Died at...

Grow to their environment... by
Jon Pike
I'm sure you've all heard this idea before, that fish of various kinds will
grow to fit their environment, and then stop growing.
Does anyone have good -reliable- information on the matter? I'm sure
everyone has opinions, and links to opinions, but I'd like to get a handle
on some facts if it were...

food by
KRF
What brand and type of food do you recommend for goldfish. I brought
three of them in from my pond for the winter. Currently I am using slow
sinking pellets by Wardleys. Is there something better, or is that good
enough? Thanks
