Pond Liner? by
skidog
I want to put a small pond or water feature in the back. Came across a
24'x24' piece of rubber roofing 1/8" to 3/16" thick. I've had a friend
raise fish and grow plants in this same type of liner and I've also heard
that it can't be done and everything will die because of the type of rubber.
Who...

Scum problem in my pond - need advice by
Tony Crabtree
Hi,
For the last couple of years, I have had a 100 gallon pond (moulded black
liner) where my Koi have successfully bred.
This Spring I have encountered a small, annoying problem. There is a furry
deposit on the sides of the pond - probably algae? that easily flakes off
and is being stirred up...

using carpet to line a pond by
seneca
I'm about to install a pond and have heard that some people use a
special fabric layer on the soil, before they put the liner down.
Apparently it stops little stones sticking through. I just happen to
have a load of oold carpet and the underlay that I have taken out of
the house when a wooden flor...

Liner Leak by
Bob
I beginning to suspect I have a leak in my liner. Other than the water level
showing the height where the leak may be located, are there any suggestions
for pin pointing the leak on the perimeter of the pond?

flexiponds, anyone? by
seneca
Anyone got, of knows anything about flexiponds? It’s a rigid pond made
from “a revolutionary rubberised material” which means it can be folded
up and delivered in a box. According to the manufacturer it’s like a
cross between a flexible and a rigid liner with the advantages of both
and none of...

Fish by
Tri_EK
I had a leak in my garden pond and had to take the fish out and put in a new
liner. That was realy pain. I put new water in, chlorine neutralizer, and
bio start for the pond.
I put the fish back in and they seem to be alright but they have been hiding
near the pump. They only come out when...

UK pond problem by
Dave
We recently moved into this house and "inherited" what could be a nice
little pond. Trouble is, the previous owner hasn't cleaned it out or done
anything to it since about July last year and it's a right mess of dead
plants and blanketweed, but also now getting new growth on plants as well.
It...

Aquatic Compost by
David Sim
Hi
What are your thoughts on planting pond plants in standard garden clay. When
I dug the pond last year I had about 2ft of top soil and then straight into
clay.
I just fancied doing quite a lot of planting / transplating & wanted to
avoid the cost of buying a lot of compost from the pond...

Create and own beautiful Bonsai Trees by
[email protected]
bonsai trees aren't that difficult to cultivate. If you've taken care
of a regular houseplant, you're more than halfway there. But unlike
houseplants, bonsai trees are actually trees -- and can be killed if
kept indoors during the winter.
In fact, you'll be amazed at how simple it is to create...

Could you please help me by taking a short survey on your vehicle?
I'm helping a friend gather information on vehicle use, comparing how
do-it-yourself'ers use their vehicles with other people.

I found a great book about water gardens at Amazon, Better Homes and
Gardens Water Gardens. It sold at Wal Mart for over $13.00 but at
Amazon I bought 2 used for less than $5 each. I'll be using ideas in it

What thickness concrete base? by
Smudge Smith
What thickness should the base for a concrete pond be? I have excavated my
pond area to about 15ft x 8ft x 3ft deep which I then intend to build up
above the surface another 2.5-3 ft giving a depth of approx 5 ft. As I
intend to fit a bottom drain, the literature says that I should prepare a
6inch...
