Can a Blood Red Fire Shrimp live in a fish only tank with no live rock? I

Is this a baby snail? by
[email protected]
I found this creature in my tank tonight. It is really small, clear,
and moves like a snail. It travels across the glass like a snail, and
seems to have a mouth like a snail. I have 12 mexican turbo snails in
my tank. Could this be a baby?

Mandarin's strange behaviour by
El Scorcho
I've had my blue mandarin for about 3 weeks now and he seems to be
doing good so far. There seem to be enought copepods in the tank to
keep him healthy and he also enjoys frozen brine shrimp that fall to
the bottom.
Recently I started to notice some strange behaviour. Usually he likes
to hide and...

clown eggs? by
Colleen
Yesterday some white stringy and bumpy stuff appeared on two different rocks
on opposite sides of my tank. I was wondering what was growing all of the
sudden, but the only thing that makes sense are eggs. Today I just noticed
more of this stuff on the back glass in two close spots. When I had...

Red Sea's "Marine Success Buff" requires very small doses? by
Benjamin Slade
I just bought Red Sea's "Marine Success Buff" for my 40 gal reef tank
(it was what was available at a local store).
Looking at the dosage directions, it says at 5ml per 60 gallons (240
liters) per *week*. For my 40 gal tank, that would translate to about
1.1 ml per day. Ie. just a few...

Broken Thermometer in Set Up!! by

Help--
Setting up 75 Gal Reef Tank for first time. When noticed that
temperature was not changing after adding heater, I realized that there
was a chip in the thermometer. It's a red-dye in-tank thermometer. Do
I need to start from beginning? From what I've read--it's only alcohol
and red dye....

ph problem by
Sarah Navarro
Hi all,
I have a 20 gal. fish only tank with crushed coral substrate. My ph runs
consistently at 7.8. What is the best way to raise it up slowly so that my
fish won't go into shock. I'm not crazy about chemicals, but would be
willing to try it if it's the only way. It was my understanding that...

critter question by
El Scorcho
I'm thinking of getting some small hermits for my 29G.
I'm concerned about them outgrowing their shells. Should this be a
genuine concern? Do I have to have a bunch of small shells in there for
them if they outgrow them?

half open, and then today they were all retracted and wouldn't open. I took
my water to the LFS yesterday to have it checked. (I have a test kit at
home,...
