A few macros while I was killing time.... by
Marc Levenson
My Bubble Tip Anemone had a baby today at 4:19am. It took 24 hours of labor,
but the new bubbly baby is resting next to its parent, and all is good.
Here are the pictures.
My Blue Damsel was injured last night, and I got a shot of his side. You can
see the small...

Aptaisia doubling about everyday to two days by
Richard Ryerson
I bought some orange zoo about a month ago. On the rock was a couple pieces
of aptaisia that I started killing by injecting with kalkwasser. It was
working but lately as of this week it seems that they are more plentiful and
larger.
How can I get rid of these things once and for all?
I noticed...

Lighting for hex tank by

Hello everyone,
I would like to convert my hex tank to sal****er and need to replace the
original 14w 15" fluorescent lamp. I am having trouble finding suitable
retro lighting or replacement hood. Short of going all out and getting a MH
pendant, do I have other options? I do not plan on having...

Stupid Question? by
Miguel
What is the impact of cyanobacteria of the aquarium?
I have a bit (well, I'm not 100% certain tho) that has developed on some of
my rocks and on the back glass of the tank.
Posted some pictures in the group a few days ago if interested in looking
further.
Thanx

Controlling Xenia and Star Polyps by
Ron
Anyone have any good suggestions on how to control Xenia and star polyps.
They are starting to get out of hand in my tank and 50 percent of my live
rock is now covered with them.
Thanks

New Guy Needs a Little Direction by
Pete M
Greetings to All,
I will soon be purchasing my first marine tank and would appreciate a
little advice.. I plan to buy a 125 gal with a built in overflow
which will be used for fish only or perhaps with some live rock as
well. I will install a sump. I have been looking at an AquaC EV-240
protein...

sans the flourecent part.
I am price concious, but I want quality....

Deep Sand Bed and Red Algae nightmare by
Mark
I have a 125 gallon reef tank with a deep sand bed. That's 4-5" of
Aragamax sand. I find that I am having horrendous problems with red
algae covering everything. I did a 50% water change last week and
already everything's covered again. I can practically set my watch by
it.
All fish are very...

brittle star plays nice with others? by

I have a small white brittle star - about six inches from tentacle to
tentacle. Will it each my shrimp? My wife is rather attached to the
shrimp and would be upset if the star ate it.

Sodium Thiosulfate by
Matt Awbrey
Does anyone know what, on average, is the length of time it will remain
active and at what concentrations does it become toxic to fish. In both
short immersion exposure and over long term immersion exposure. As well as
what (if any) are the tell tale signs of thiosulfate toxicity.

Mike Silver
I have a calcium ractor, been runnig it for about a year. Normally the
