stoutman
Does anyone have a recipe to remove ink from the surface of lacquer. My 15

didn't work.
Thanks

Auto shut-off valve in under-sink RO systems by
concerned_RO_user
Hi,
I am preparing to get an under-sink RO system with pressurized storage tank for
both drinking and aquarium use, and have a question about the auto shut-off
(ASO) valves included in most systems.
When the ASO valve is activated it shuts down the input to the RO cartridge and
causes the...

"Snapping" sound coming from aquarium.... by
Dr Drudge
I added some live rock recently (bought it from someone local) and I'm
now hearing a snapping or popping sound from inside the tank.
I was adding four peppermint shrimp as an attempt at aiptasia control
and then heard the noise about 20 mins later- it was evening and I had
only the actinics on.
I...

Removing/Moving all type of coral. by
skozzy
I am looking at rearanging my tank, I want to try and get that cliff edge
look, at the moment it just looks like rocks on rocks. Some base rock, and
some live rock and some with living corals on them. Anyhow, there is a bit
of a mix of soft corals and hard or stoney type corals. If I arrange...

Too much light for coralline ? by
[email protected]
Just a quick observation and question...
On my 135 (72x18x24h), I have 3x175MH 10000K and 2x160 03 actinics.
Actinics are on for about 11 hours, MHs for about 9.5 hours daily. I
have found that upon placing a rock with coralline algae covering it
into the tank, the coralline on the top of the rock...

Anemone Rises from the Deep by
Layer3guru
I wish I could get better pics to really show how big this thing is, the
spot it resides in my tank wedged underneath a piece of live rock makes it
hard.

Epoxy/Fiberglass in Sal****er by
Kevin Kinney
I'm have a passing familiarity working with epoxy & fiberglass. (West
System Epoxy, to be exact.)
A buddy wants me to help build some pseudo reefs out of the stuff.
We're both wondering if there are bad leaching effects if we use epoxy
& fiberglass.
Can anyone help?
Regards,
Kevin Kinney

UV shielding glass or not? by
Mislav
Hi
I'm planing to build custom lighting for my new aquarium. I'm going to put 2
* 250W doubleended MH bulbs. Is it necessary to put UV shielding/filtering
glass between bulb and surface of aquarium? If it is necessary, would 4mm
thick plain glass be good?
Thanks
Mislav

Noisy Mag 5 ? by
Dan Norgard
Does anyone know how to get a Mag 5 to run quieter? I've padded it, set it
on a cushion base and it still sounds like a rattle. I checked for
cavitation, modulated the outfeed to no avail. It still makes the sound
when disconnected from the plumbing. It doesn't sound terminal,...

lighting question by
Brandon Taitano
I have a 48 * 13 * 20 55 gal tank. I currently have 130 watts from a
customsealife smartlite. I am interested but not locked in to the idea of
getting an anemone. Anyone know about what types would be appropriate with
this amount of light, or how much more light I might need?
