I've read the FAQ-Need Help (part 6) by
Mort
I figured out what the Skimmer is... It's a Sea Clone 150. =\ I think I
remember reading that they suck.?.
Supposedly, all you need to run it is a power head. I'm still looking in to
that but being that I wont need it until after the tank has cycled, I'm
kinda puttin that on the back burner. ...

Golden Pearls and feeding Baby Brineshrimp by
Marc Levenson
Hey guys, I'd like your input on feeding.
I just got my very first jar of Golden Pearls, which surprisingly stated that it
must be stored in the refrigerator. Now how do I feed this stuff? Do you mix
in in liquid? Do you squirt it toward the corals (like goniopora or acropora)?
Do you turn off...

cheap sea salt??? by
Chief Ephor
hi.
The use of evaporated seawater as salt for marine tank had comes up
periodically. The main reason that it is not a good idea is the fact that
you can not reconstitute the NSW (natural sea water) parameter since the
evaporation and addition of water is not reversible for certain...

20g reef tank by
Marc Levenson
Hi Det68,
Pretty much like any other reef tank. You're just doing it on a smaller scale.
4" DSB, 20 - 30 lbs of Live Rock, and a Aqua C Remora Protein Skimmer. PC
lighting will work great for a smaller tank like that.

Two things by
Marc Levenson
First of all, is the marine.binaries group down for y'all? Or simply dormant?
I don't get any messages there for the past two weeks, and there used to be a
couple of hundred in there. Now my ISP reports "3 messages, 0 unread" which
can't be right!
Second of all, someone contacted me last week...

Grape Caulerpa Algae - who will eat it? by
Wort
Hi ,
I have the beginnings of an excess of Grape Caulerpa Algae . It is
hard to manually harvest. Sticks to the rocks and breaks into pieces
that scatter.
Do you know of any fish or inverts that will dine on this stuff?
Regards

Thinking of redoing my plumbing by
Bob Parkins
Thinking about it...
Currently I have a separate pump running my chiller. For the sake of noise
I have it on the temp controller with the chiller. I know it isn't good for
the pump. My return pump is a Mag7 as well.
I was thinking, in order to eliminate the chiller pump altogether,...

Thinking Tiny Redux by

Still waiting for the armageddon which I was assured would come later
rather than sooner. Short recap: I made a *just add water* instant
sal****er aquarium, complete with fish and live rock and minimal
lighting and (oh no!) undergravel filter, all within one hour. Thirty
posts accused me of being...

Hang on pumps by
Bob Phelps
I have a few pumps that I would to like use for water
movement in my tanks. The rubber suction cups never hold
and I either lost or never got the hang on clips. Is there some way to fix
these to the tank at different levels that you have used? They are
from 100-590 gpm rated. My tanks are 2-120's,...

Lighting question-Square inverse rule by
Acrylics
The intensity of light decreases by the square of the distance that
area is from the lighting source. Does this rule apply to the
distance of a light source no matter if the distance consists of water
or air?
No, IIRC this "rule" only applies in a vaccuum. Water is going to have alot
more...
