Anyone from Perth Australia or any other AU state here? by
Alfred
The moderators on that forum have not "oked" my registration yet, so I
can't PM you. Wish I could post there as there :(.
I am North as well, in Ocean Reef. Would love to meet up and look at
your tanks!
Looking for a 48x24x24 or 36x18x18. What did you pay for your 48"?
Could you call me? ...

Your tank looks great. How many planted tanks do you have? I can't
wait to get mine going.
Finally found someone that will fill my own CO2 tank, only problem is

MH lights by
Neil Woodman
Hi,
I'm thinking of making my own ballast to house 2 150w metal halide
lights using probably some kind of security light built into the
ballast. Assuming it doesn't fall in the tank and kill me does anyone
have any advice on what I should look out for or a potential method?
Thanks,
Neil

Java Fern reproduction by
Bill Stock
How does Java Fern seed itself? I've got a Java Rock in the Betta tank and
I've started to notice some Algae growing. One spot of Algae has long
threads growing from it, bit it's too thick for Hair Algae. It looks like
Java Moss growing out of the Algae spot?

Need help setting up lighting by
[email protected]
I've been out of the hobby for over a decade but I ended up with a
great deal on a huge acrylic tank (79.5x18.25x24) that I just couldn't
pass up. However, I've never dealt with an acrylic tank before and
noticed that there are two "holes" cut out of the top piece for
lighting hoods (I'm assuming)....

Maracyn in UK by
gf225
Is Maracyn available in the UK - I assume vets may stock it?
Just in case BGA rears its ugly head. I may be paranoid but I think I
can see a little creeping up from the bottom of my substrate, visible
from the front glass. I've heard that Maracyn is great at treating it,
I thought of crushing a...

Does anyone know where I can get either copies of Aquajournal or any ADA

UK aweness of Amano I find very frustrating, plus the ADA website,

Going to try REAL plants...again by
Timcat
Hi all,
I never had good luck with live plants in the past. I'm getting ready to
set up my tanks again after a long (too long) break for school, moving, etc.
I want to do this the right way from the start, so...what are some good
books/resources for a plant newbie like me that covers water...

Sourcing potassium by

Hi,
I'm obviously new here so "hello" to you all.
I'm not too sure how in depth you guys go with planted tanks so I
apologise in advance if this seems an odd question - if it's not an odd
question then great, perhaps someone can help!
I have a Juwel Rio 125, heavily planted, 3.6 WPG HO T8, CO2...

What did it say? Thank you...
Looks like they are telling you to boil your new driftwood, to remove excess
tannins or the like. boiling the wood would help to waterlog the wood, so
it sinks as well. That's my best guess :-)

Slow growth in a small tank by

Hello all
I have been getting much useful information from reading the posts here.
Thanks.

seem to be getting the growth from my plants that I would like. I have high
nitrates in my tap water and would like a vigorous...
