Aquarium substrate for planted tank by
Dan
I am getting ready to setup a planted 75 gallon aquarium tank. I have put
about an inch layer of Flourite on the bottom of the aquarium. I want to
use play sand from Toys R. Us or a hobby store for the substrate. My
questions is how hard is this to keep clean? And will it work? I wanted...

What do I do with the plants now? by
Suzie-Q
Okay, so I bought a plant (oz-something sword?) and just dropped
it into my betta's 2.5 gallon tank. He liked it so much that I
decided to buy another plant (mini sword?). This time I read the
plant sign on the tank(s) at Wal-Mart. It said that I should
remove the plant from the plastic "pot" and...

pH measurement & CO2 control web site is back by
Mondy
The pH measurement and control web site for planted aquariums is back
up, at www.66pacific.com/fish/ph/ . If you're interested in homebrewing
a system that controls CO2 injection into your aquarium by monitoring
(and displaying) the pH level, have a look.

Help identify plant by
Bill Stock
I stopped at the LFS to pick up some Java Moss for the GF and I saw an
interesting red plant for the Tropical tank. Unfortunately I wasn't paying
enough attention to the name and I can't make out the invoice. It looks
something like Red Strata, but I could not find any plants under this name.
It's...

I think I broke the temperature control for my Eheim professional II

it untill a couple of hrs later. The LCD display is blank. I let it dry out
but still no display, the pump is working fine.
I guess I'm looking for any...

DIY trickle filter by
spiral_72
I'm researching/designing my own wet/dry trickle filter. There seems to
be an abundance of info on the net but one thing still baffles me. How
is everyone getting a $15 powerhead to lift water from the filter back
into the top of the tank? I have tried several methods with the 300gph
powerhead I...

murky water by
John H.
Hi
My planted tank is about 2 months old and the plants have taken firm root.
I have discus/cardinal tetras primarily but also a plec, cloan loach and 1
angel.
My question is, is it unrealistic to expect a planted tank to have crystal
clear water? There is all kinds of particulates floating around....

Lilly Bulbs by
Suzie-Q
I recently bought some lilly bulbs that I'm planning to put in my
aquarium, which I haven't started yet. The package says it contains
Nymphaea Lilly bulbs (red or green).
I'd like your opinion/experience whether these plants are a good
idea or not.
I know very little about aquariums or aquarium...

Aquarium safe pottery/china? by
Bill Stock
I've got some Cabomba that does not want to stay rooted in my tank, as it
the stems keep rotting away. So it's temporarily floating around and growing
roots from every orifice. I have read that Cabomba roots better in soil,
rather than gravel/fluorite. I'd like to set up some pots with a layer...

Water Wisteria not growing well by
Ook
I have some "water wisteria" in my tank. At the top of the plant it grows
nice green lush foliage. But in about a week, the tips of the leaves start
to curl under and turn brown and rot. New growth comes out of the top, old
growth slowly dies. My hornswort is growing like crazy. My lillies did...

Yellowing dying poppy, hyacinth, duck weed :( by
Dustin Holmes
I've got a water poppy and the leaves are yellowing and dying off. Same
for my duck weed if you can believe it! They're in a small metal
container, maybe 1.5 feet by 1.5 feet. There's also a water hyacynth
(yellowing), a fish and a snail. Same thing happened last year. Any help
please?
Thank you!
