Identifying Amano plants by
Tom Otvos
I am quite new to planted aquaria, and recently got a copy of Takeshi
Amano's "Nature Aquarium World". As most people, I suspect, I was
quite awed by some (ok, ALL) of the images.
And yet even though I read comments about this book in advance and was
prepared to *not* find all the answers, I was...

medium chain swords by
Moontanman
There used to be a medium sized chain sword plant. Just about right for a back
round plant in a small aquarium like a 15 or 20 gallon. I haven't seen any in a
long time. All I see are the pygmy swords. Does anyone have any of this plant?
I am also having trouble finding the swords with the long...

snail-eating loach/fish in planted tank by
Velvet
Have asked this in rec.aq.fresh.misc and r.a.m but figured asking here

a pretty huge population of MTS which I like (just not this many) and
the occasional other type of snail (none of which seem to eat...

The Big MTS Migration by
Victor Martinez
Of sorts... in the past two weeks hundreds and hundreds of itty-bitty
MTS have decided to leave the gravel and hang out on the walls of the
tank and even on the surface of the water. They are there all the time.
Any ideas what it might be?

How would I go about cleaning algae off plastic plants? Mine are starting

Chlorine bleach. Rinse them really well before putting them back into
the tank.

where can I buy a good reflector? by
Dave M. Picklyk
Hi! I can't seem to find a good aluminum reflector for 24" T8 bulbs. I need
a wide one that holds two bulbs in a nice M shape or two parabolic type
single reflectors for each bulb. Anyone that can point me to a supplier
would be great...especially one located in Canada!
Thanx!!!

Lead weights for plants by
RedForeman ©®
I have a lead melter/burner device that melts about a US pound of lead at a
time. I'd like to find out how to make a mold to shape it in.
My current ideas are, using 1"x1" wood, and fastening it to make a series of
steps, X's or triangular shaped ridges /\/\/\/\/\ in some fashion, cap on
both...
