Dying Floating Pond Weed by
Tony Crabtree
Hi, I have a small (100 gallon} pond with a few Koi. During the summer good
shade cover was obtained from water lilies and aggressive water hyacinths
which was allowed to cover 2/3rd's of the pond. Now that the weather has
turned cold the plants are dying and leaves are going black. Should...

Criters by
Paul
Recently made my own bio-filter a month and a half ago. I
noticed these little creeping bug/worm inside filter
clinging on to the filter media inside. Are these a good
thing? I don't know. Thanks.............Paul

What is it? by
Jimmy G
What is this stuff? It is colorless, rather stringy, & covering the
waterfall and growing on all the rocks in the pond.
I thought algae was green or brown. How does one get rid of this without
making the water uninhabitable?
Thanks for the help?

Buidling a pond by
Benji Thorn
I'd like to build a small pond perhaps 3 x 5 metres in my backyard and
would ideally like to have some fish living in it. Could anyone post
some good links to building and constructing such a thing?
What plants grow best in a pond?
Thanks heaps :)

keeping water level up? by
G & K Meyer
Does any one have a way to keep their water feature full with out doing it
by hand? I was thinking there must be something out there that can be tied
into a water supply that would open and shut off when a the water level
reaches a set level.
I would like to put something like that on my front...

Koi Kote by
Wildkarrde
I posted this in rec.ponds and am just trying to share. I purchased some
koi kote from www.koi-koteusa.com and used it to coat the slate tile work in
my pond. The stuff worked great! and looks great! It's an epoxy liner
sealer that I put on myself and it was pretty easy. Anyways, I just...

Green pond water by

Well the only problen I have with my tiny pond is string algae. The
water is pretty clear. I have lots of plants and a biofilter. I guess
that goldfish aren't algae hungry as koi. I was told that mosquito

Hey folks.
I'm new here, so if i'm breaking a rule or something, excuse me.
My stepfather designs gardens. I don't know the exact english term for

Pond design by
DK
I'm planning to build a water garden-cum-fish pond in my garden and am
looking for a simple yet effective design (not the sophisticated koi pond
type) to produce optimum results where pump, waterfall & filtration are

I've gone to...

Goldfish Fighting? by
Quilljar
I am in Southern England and have a small pond about ten feet by five. It
contains about five or six goldfish about six inches long. Today, three of
them have started chasing one another around and even across the surface,
seeming quite violent. Can anyone explain what is going on?
