Help with strange tree tumors/fungus? Links to pictures by
Michael Elliott
Thanks to anyone who can shed some light on this; I'm a complete tree
non-expert. I don't even know what species it is. At the end of last
summer, we noticed some strange growths or tumors on the ends of the
twigs. I have a page of photos at

Which Pump is Right for my Pond?? by
Steve Shapson
I've finished building my pond (18'x18'x2'/attached to a 55' long 2' wide
stream up to a waterfall at a grade 4 feet above the pond grade).
There are so many pumps on the market. I do not know where to go. I do want
a good flow of water to make the waterfall dramatic. Does anyone care to
advise...

fish with disease by
Steele family
Hello there,
Just noticed a problem with 4 or 5 of our fish. We have about 20 fish
altogether in our pond. They are mixed colours ranging from plain gold,
plain white/cream, plain black and a mix of these colours.
The problem seems to be with the plain gold fish. They have creamy white
lumps on...

Koi White spot - Concern? by
Basil Malithorne
Hello all,
Been a long winter, but happy spring. Another winter has passed and my fish all survived it. One issue concerns me though is that one of my Koi has a white spot behind the top of his head. I vaguely recall reading about this condition here, but don't remember what to do about it, if...

Koi out of pond by
Larry
I have a 10" Koi who was out of the pond when I got home tonight. Not
completely dry but not breathing. Got him back in water and moved him
by hand to get some water flowing through gills. He started breathing
but still very weak. He's on side and having difficulty moving at all.
tends to drift...

Go to your local hardware store and buy a line level and a ball of string
that does not stretch. You can suspend the line level on the string above
the pond and find out just much you have to bring up the low side. Put a
series of stakes around the pond higher than you know you need to go. ...

get rid of heron by
Norm
We had the problem as well as having a Kingfisher using our pond for an easy
feeding ground. Solved the problem by buying a Heron statue and placing it
next to the pond. The thing to remember is to move it slightly every few
days making the others think it's real.
