Raised Pond Construction by
Stirkius
Hello All.
I am in the process of turning my rear south facing garden from a
wilderness into a "extension" of my house. Five years of hard graft
have now resulted in raised beds , gravel walkways, yorkshire stone
flagged steps and an area that is enjoyable to sit in and relax.
I have now got to...

Cracked concrete pond by
groovy
I used a bitumen based sealant. Warmed it up to make it more liquid and
chose a hot sunny day so that the concrete was warm. Brushed as much
dust from the gap as possible and allowed the sealant to run down the
cracks. I then spread the sealant away from the cracks to make a T shape
over them (the...

Newbie here,
I live in the UK and built a wildlife pond in my back garden about 6 weeks

British summer) and today I noticed that there are small clumps of white
eggs around the edge of the pond, stuck to the edges and just...

Extending Pond by
eyeldham
I built my pond last year and have approx 15 fish - not huge. I built
it with a flexible liner but now feel it is not quite big enough.
I dug it fairly deep (3 foot) in middle with deep planting ledges, too
deep probably as many of my baskets are on bricks. It is around 12 ft
long and 6 ft wide....

Koi or shubunkin or frankenstein -- how can I tell? by

I'm wondering if someone can tell me what I might have in my pond :-)
I've got a 300 gallon pond with 3 one year old shubunkin, and a
handful of koi not much older than a year. I have dozens and dozens of
fry in every size from an eighth of an inch to two inches. Many of
them resemble the...

Water Lily Aphid by

As the weather has been so hot last couple of weeks. I have been getting a
lot of calls at the nursery about what looks like black fly on waterlilys.
this is Waterlilly aphid. It would be worth checking your ponds as they seem
to appear from no where. Especially if you have plum or cherry trees...

The problem is that according to some experts they are meant to be
extinct in the UK. On the other...

Poorly pond - update (longish) by
Smith
I posted on here a few weeks back, asking for advice because my fish were
sick and dying at a huge rate. I got some great advice, which I followed, so
here's the update.
We tested for ammonia, and the levels were high, so we immediately ordered a
Green Genie from the internet. In the meantime, we...
