Question
Notice - Pond help required..... by The G Man
Am fairly new to looking after ponds.... Anyway, have a pond in our back garden. It's quite a small one (only holds around 110 litres of water) but enough for a small fountain, some pond plants and maybe (if I can get the environment right) a few small fish. But for now I'd just settle for a clean...

Pond Gloves by Stephen Henning

External pumps and priming pots by Wilmdale
If I install a pump basket/leaf basket/priming pot (constructed of a 5 gallon bucket, for example), will I still need to purchase 'their' priming pots/leaf baskets to install on the pump as well? I would think the first in-line filter should take care of the concerns address by the fancy priming...

Pond on a beautiful summer day by Gary Woods
At long last! I took a friend's son on a paddleboat ride to see what was going on in the pond. Lots.... on his own, he asked if we could just float in the middle (not huge; about 2/3 acre) and look. Lots of teenage bass checked us out, and a mystery: a just opened pure white hardy lily from what...

barrel pond water question by [email protected]
I'm trying to get a pond going with 1/2 barrel that was used for red wine. I'm not using a liner, and I've filled it with water and some plants (water lily, hyacinth, anacharis, a couple of marginals). The problem is that after about a week the water turns really foul: it gets this white...

At least now I know, what next? by Dsybok
A while back, maybe two or three weeks, I posted about losing a couple of fish mysteriously, in the Long Beach, CA area. Suspected a bird, but didnt know for sure. Well, standing in the front yard today talking to my roofer about an upcoming project a gigantic gray heron swoops in and lands on the...
