Canadian Liner/tarp company by
Bev
Just thought I would post the address for Canadian folks of a company that
sells tarps/liner. It is poly ethylene liner and comes in a variety of
thickness' and starts at .16 per sq.foot. I have had this time of liner for
many many years as when I started ponding it was the only type...

Raised without brineshrimp... by
Koi4Me
The little koi and goldfish are doing well, and some are getting colors.
Some are "PINK." They were raised in green water and fed eggyolk the first
week or so of their lives. I was told and read that baby brineshrimp are
necessary to raise them - not true! The yolks were mixed with powdered...

Awesome, cheap filter media! by
robv60
Everyone run out to "the Dollar Tree" if you have one in your
neighborhood! In the cheap kids toys section, they have what are called
"Whirly Balls", they are 4 for $1. Kind of hard to describe....you know
how when you peel an orange all in one long strip and you can take the
skin and form it into...

Source for Sagittaria cuneata Sheldon by
Jeff Frontz
I'm looking for a source (seed, nursery-propagated tuber, or
nursery-propagated plant) for Sagittaria cuneata Sheldon. I've found
several online for S. latifolia, but none for S. Cuneata Sheldon.
Thanks,
Jeff

Winter by
Peter Breed
I know spring is turning into summer - but the awakening got me thinking
is there a way to give my pond a head start. So I thought how much
would putting a cover over my pond in winter give the pond a head start
in spring. Lots of web searching later I came...

Unfortunate sequence of events :-( by
Glenn S.
This weekend, we lost all the koi in our front pond due to a couple of badly
timed events.
On Friday, we lost water to the house (private well). We pulled the pump,
fixed the problem, and re-sunk the pump Saturday a.m. Since this was a
major disturbance to the well, we dumped a gallon of bleach...

algae vanished by
///Owen\\\\\\
My pond had the usual algae bloom when it started up again, but it's settled
down OK. I have water trickling down a concrete lantern which soon got
covered with a luxuriant coating of algae. But..... one morning it was all
gone. Bare concrete. How come the algae vanished so quickly?
Thanks

Y'all need to check out this pond that is being built. It is totally

Hi,
I was about to ask a few questions. But before I did; I scope some of the
messages here, and frankly very little has to do with ponds. I should have
known better than to try to seek some good advice on Usenet.
Anybody downloading the first 500 headers will realize that this group has
